This data was provided by the Michigan Health & Safety Coalition. The Michigan Health and Safety Coalition’s goal is to improve the safety of health care for Michigan residents. To advance this goal, they began a project in December 2001 that produced hospital guidelines for patient treatment for seven serious medical conditions and care in the intensive care unit.
All Michigan hospitals were invited to respond to a survey about their activities in the eight treatment areas of study. They then compared their responses to coalition guidelines, and this consumer report presents the results for each of the hospitals that responded. This consumer report also tells you the number of each procedure the hospital has done and compares it to the coalition's recommended volume.
